What advice do you have for future students?
Enjoy every second of your undergraduate experience. It's honestly the best time in your life. However, don’t take it for granted. Embrace the new and different, learn from people and respect difference. You have four years to prepare you for the next 40 years. Approach every day as if you were interviewing for a job.
How would you describe the atmosphere at Texas State?
It’s like watching ice melt in Alaska. Meaning, it’s a very communal environment where people spend time building friendships. No one is in a rush. The staff here are dedicated to preparing students to be successful leaders.
What do you like best about San Marcos?
San Marcos is located in a good place. I think it appeals to most students. The city is large enough to give a city vibe, but also small enough to not overwhelm anyone. There are great outdoor places in the hill country, and if you love water, the river is great! If the outdoors isn’t for you, Austin and the outlet mall are just minutes away.
