F-1/J-1 Student Visas

Current Student Visa holders and first-time applicants must complete their immigration actions to transfer their SEVIS record or get their first I-20 and visa. For more information, contact Texas State's International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).

Sign Up for New Student Orientation (NSO)

All new students are required to sign up for New Student Orientation (NSO). First-year international students will attend a one-day, in-person NSO session the week before classes start. International transfer students have the option to complete NSO online or sign up for a one-day, in-person session. Questions about NSO may be sent to

In addition to NSO, all new international students are also required to complete the F-1 International Student Immigration Check-in process with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). This process includes an online Canvas course, online document submission, and an in-person workshop with information about F-1 status requirements and Texas State resources. Get Vaccinated

As a new Bobcat, you are required by Texas law to provide proof of immunization against bacterial meningitis or an affidavit of exemption. To assist you in complying with the law, Texas State has contracted with Magnus Health Technology, Inc. to collect and verify your medical documents. Send Your Final Transcripts

Whether you're finishing high school or are attending classes at another university or community college, we'll need an official transcript showing your final grades. Once you've completed course work, submit an official copy of your transcript to:
