Parents and Family

Sending a child off to college can be both an exciting and a stressful experience. Whether you’re a first-time family member of a college student or you’ve done this before, there’s a lot to think about.

We’ve pulled together some resources on this page to help you throughout the process. We also invite you to explore Texas State and our academic opportunities, along with our student support resources.

It is not just a school, it is a small portion of your story that you get to write within a beautiful campus and its wonderful community.

Staying Connected

Stay up-to-date on what's happening on campus by joining the Texas State Family Association. Comprised of parents and other support members, the Family Association is your voice, guide and link to campus. We also invite you to consider participating in the Family Association's Family Weekend activities. On select weekends, families can come to campus for a customized Family Weekend adventure.

Sign up below to receive timely information and connect with your student for FERPA access to their status, grades and more by joining the Bobcat Family Portal.

My first time on campus was for my student orientation, but when I got here, it felt like home.

Wellness and Safety

Our Safety and Emergency Communications site is your main source of information for safety on campus. It will also be where we share any emergency-related communications and the official notification that campus is closed during weather or other incidents.

Wellness is important to us. We want our entire campus to feel safe and healthy. Read more about our resources available to students.

We Are Family at Texas State!

We can’t wait to meet your family and show them how Texas State can prepare students to succeed in life!
