Select the option(s) below that best fit your circumstances and attach all documentation that applies. You must select at least one rationale option for your request to be processed. Additional documentation that further supports your in-state residency classification is welcome and encouraged.
All submissions are also required to include a completed and signed Residency Questionnaire (PDF), which must be attached at the end of this form.
Texas High School Graduates
High School Transcript, GED, or receipt of diploma equivalent showing three years of attendance at a public or private high school in Texas before graduation or receipt of a diploma equivalent. Please refer to the list of acceptable documents for a full description of required items.
Previous Enrollment in Texas
If you are a student currently or previously enrolled and classified as a Texas resident at another public Texas college or university.
Establishment of Domicile
Dependent and independent students may gain residency through an established domicile in the state of Texas. Please refer to the list of acceptable documents for a full description of required items.
(Note: To be considered a dependent, your parent or legal guardian must provide at least 50% of your financial support, even if they do not claim you on their taxes. A step-parent does not automatically qualify as a parent unless he/she has adopted the student.)
