What are three things you love about Texas State?

I love the community on campus; I found lifelong friends at Texas State that I love and cherish. I love Alkek, that is the coolest library I have ever been to and the views are immaculate. I also love the river, I feel like you can't talk about Texas State without talking about the river, right? It's cool, refreshing, and I love that there's a bus stop close by so I don't have to worry about parking!

How would you describe the atmosphere at Texas State?

I would describe the atmosphere at Texas State as warm and inviting. I was really nervous when I started at Texas State because I went to a smaller high school, but I never felt out of place. Texas State was an environment that helped me thrive and grow into the person I am today, and I really appreciate the people and organizations that helped me develop my personality.

Why did you choose to become an admissions counselor?

I chose to become an admissions counselor because I love working with high school students. I used to teach AP US History and knew that my journey with students wasn't ending. I also have a huge passion for helping students achieve their higher education goals, and working at the place that helped me achieve those goals was really ideal.
