Second Bachelor's Degree

Texas State welcomes students who are pursuing a second bachelor's degree. An application and all supporting documentation must be submitted by the transfer admission priority date.

How to Apply

Complete the following steps to apply for admission to pursue a second bachelor's degree.

Step 1

Submit an application for admission

Complete and submit the Transfer Student application at ApplyTexas. It is important that you fill out all sections of the application completely and indicate you are seeking a second bachelor's degree.

Step 2

Pay the Application fee

Pay the nonrefundable application fee of $75. You may pay online with a credit card or mail a check or money order to:

Step 3

Submit Transcript(s)

Have transcripts sent from all colleges and universities you have attended via Parchment, Naviance, or National Student Clearinghouse. Unofficial copies will not be accepted.

If you are seeking a second bachelor's degree in business, the McCoy College requires the overall GPA from your first degree be a 2.5 or higher. Second bachelor degree seekers cannot pursue an exploration or general studies major.

An evaluation of previous course work will be done if you are admitted to Texas State. After which, you are able to meet with your Academic Advisor and they will determine which courses from your first degree will apply toward your second bachelor’s degree.

To apply as a non-degree seeking student, you must complete all steps by the appropriate deadline.

Not seeking a second bachelor's degree?

If you currently hold a bachelor's degree and do not wish to obtain a second bachelor's degree, you should apply for admission as a Non-Degree Seeking Student through the Graduate College.
