Program Locations
Earn your TXST degree for less
With TXST Local, you complete more than half of your degree at partner college tuition rates, which provides a cost savings opportunity while staying closer to home. You'll earn an additional $4,000 TXST Local award after reaching 60 credit hours.

Of your degree completed at partner college tuition rates. Programs range from 63-72 hours of partner college courses.
$4,000 TXST Local Award
Once you reach 60 earned credit hours—whether at TXST, through transfer courses, or both—you’ll begin receiving this award, paid out over the course of four long semesters.
Financial Aid
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year and list both your partner college and TXST. For students who are eligible, financial aid is coordinated throughout the program, with support provided by the partner institution early on and by TXST starting in your junior year.
The $4,000 TXST Local award is not a competitive scholarship and does not qualify nonresident students for a waiver of the nonresident portion of tuition.

What is the concurrent enrollment program?
TXST’s concurrent program allows students enroll at two schools simultaneously and earn college credit toward their partner degree and TXST bachelor's degree. Students can start and finish their degrees without leaving the partner college.

Students can earn a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University without leaving their local college. Students receive cost-saving opportunity through partner college rates while still benefitting from all the perks of being a TXST student and receiving full support from both schools to keep them on the right track.

Will the bachelor’s degree be awarded from Texas State University?
All eligible students who participate in the co-enrollment program will graduate with a TXST bachelor's degree if they meet TXST degree requirements.

Yes, students can meet with a TXST Regional Coordinator online or at the partner college—whichever works best for them.

Are international students eligible for these programs?
At this time, the appropriate approvals are in place for international students needing a F1 visa to enroll in the co-enrollment program at Collin College only.
The appropriate approvals are not in place to allow international students needing F1 visas to participate in the co-enrollment programs at other partner colleges. Texas State University is currently seeking the approval for international students needing an F1 visa to be able to enroll in the other partner college programs as well, and once it is granted by the Department of Homeland Security, the restriction will be lifted. There is no timeline at this moment on when approval will be granted.

Financial aid and scholarships

How will financial aid work?
A student will apply for financial aid at only one school via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Enrollment at both schools will be combined to determine a student’s financial aid eligibility, and students will be responsible for paying their registration bill at each school.

Are there any financial incentives?
Yes. After earning 60 credit hours, students in the concurrent enrollment program will receive a $4,000 TXST Local award. The award will be disbursed $1,000 per semester for up to four consecutive semesters or the earning of a bachelor’s degree (whichever comes first).

Do students need to apply for admission at both schools?
Yes, students need to apply and be admitted to both schools and can apply through Apply Texas or The Common Application. Submit your applications to Texas State and your partner college. Make sure to choose the campus and major for your TXST Local co-enrollment program with TXST.

Students should send this information to both schools. Each school must have official copies of all transcripts and test scores.
