Transfer pathways are 2+2 agreements intended for the student to fully transfer from Sul Ross to TXST. Students who pursue a transfer pathway with TXST should plan to attend the campus at which the degree is offered.

About the program

What is the concurrent enrollment program?
TXST’s concurrent program allows students to enroll at two schools simultaneously and earn college credit toward their selected bachelor’s degree(s). Students can start and finish their degrees at the Sul Ross State University by enrolling in TXST courses online.
For transfer pathways, students would need to plan for full transfer to the appropriate TXST location.

What are the advantages of the concurrent enrollment program?
Students can earn a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University without leaving their Sul Ross State University campus. Students will benefit from small, in person classes at SRSU while participating in online courses with TXST. For some co-enrollment pathways, students can earn two bachelor's degrees.

Will the bachelor’s degree be awarded from Texas State University or Sul Ross State University?
TXST will award bachelor's degrees to eligible students who apply for graduation and meet degree requirements at TXST. For students who meet Sul Ross State University degree and graduation requirements, Sul Ross State University will also award a degree.

Can students meet with a TXST advisor?
Upon admission to TXST, students will be able to meet with a TXST Advisor in the appropriate advising center for their program.
Prior to admission to TXST, students should contact an admissions counselor for program information and admissions support.

When does the concurrent enrollment program begin?
The concurrent enrollment program begins Fall 2026 for most majors. Applications will be available soon!

Financial aid and scholarships

How will financial aid work?
Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and have it sent to both TXST and SRSU. Only one school will award aid to the student, depending on the student's eligibility and the number of completed hours.
Enrollment at both schools will be combined to determine a student’s financial aid eligibility, and students will be responsible for paying their registration bill at each school.

Are there any scholarships for students in the concurrent enrollment program?
Students enrolled concurrently in online coursework with TXST are not eligible for TXST scholarships.

Do students need to apply for admission at both schools to be concurrently enrolled?
Yes, students need to apply and be admitted to both schools and can apply through Apply Texas or The Common Application. On your TXST application, select a program that is offered by TXST at Sul Ross State University.

Where do students send official copies of their transcripts and test scores?
Students should send this information to both schools. Each school must have official copies of all transcripts and test scores.
