3. Apply to both schools
Submit your applications to TXST and SRSU. Be sure to apply to a TXST Local at Sul Ross major with TXST. You'll want to make sure you apply for the aligned degree at SRSU.
Step Four
4. Enroll and get started
Make an advising appointment with your TXST advisor to map your TXST Local experience.
Register for courses at both institutions, and begin building towards your TXST degree.

Co-Enrollment Pathways
Co-enrollment pathways help you take the right courses to make progress on your selected bachelor's degrees with TXST and SRSU. Students complete TXST coursework online while taking in-person coursework with Sul Ross.
Transfer Pathway
Transfer pathways are 2+2 agreements intended for the student to fully transfer from Sul Ross to TXST in San Marcos, TX. Students need to apply to TXST as a transfer student and meet transfer admission requirements.

Note About International Enrollment
International students who require an F1 visa to enroll are not eligible for enrollment in these programs at this time. There are plans for this restriction to be lifted in the future.

About the program

What is the concurrent enrollment program?
TXST’s concurrent program allows students to enroll at two schools simultaneously and earn college credit toward their selected bachelor’s degree(s). Students can start and finish their degrees at the Sul Ross State University by enrolling in TXST courses online.

What are the advantages of the concurrent enrollment program?
Students can earn a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University without leaving their local college. Students receive cost-saving opportunity through partner college rates while still benefitting from all the perks of being a TXST student and receiving full support from both schools to keep them on the right track.

Will the bachelor’s degree be awarded from Texas State University?
TXST will award bachelor's degrees to eligible students who apply for graduation and meet degree requirements at TXST. For students who meet Sul Ross State University degree and graduation requirements, Sul Ross State University will also award a degree.

Can students meet with a TXST advisor?
Upon admission to TXST, students will be able to meet with a TXST Advisor in the appropriate advising center for their program.

Are international students eligible for these programs?
The appropriate approvals are not in place to allow international students needing F1 visas to participate in the co-enrollment programs at other partner colleges. There is no timeline at this moment on when approval will be granted.

Financial aid and scholarships

How will financial aid work?
Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and list both TXST and SRSU as recipients. Only one school will award aid to the student, depending on the student's eligibility and the number of completed hours.
Enrollment at both schools will be combined to determine a student’s financial aid eligibility, and students will be responsible for paying their registration bill at each school.

Are there any financial incentives?
Yes. After earning 60 credit hours, students in the concurrent enrollment program will receive a $4,000 TXST Local award. The award will be disbursed $1,000 per semester for up to four consecutive semesters or the earning of a bachelor’s degree (whichever comes first).
NOTE: This award is not a competitive scholarship and does not qualify nonresident students for a waiver of the nonresident portion of tuition.

Do students need to apply for admission at both schools?
Yes, students need to apply and be admitted to both schools and can apply through the TXST App, Apply Texas or Common App. Submit your applications to Texas State and your partner college. Make sure to choose the campus and major for your TXST Local co-enrollment program with TXST.

Where do students send official copies of their transcripts and test scores?
Students should send this information to both schools. Each school must have official copies of all transcripts and test scores.
